Diet is a personal lifestyle change prepared by experts to prevent health damage by consuming more or less of the foods consumed in daily life, right or wrong.
Since we have answered the question of what is diet, it is necessary to look at the meaning of the word diet. The word diet is derived from the Greek word “diaita”. Diaita literally means “lifestyle”.
The diet list is a list that is prepared for the individual and aims at healthy eating. While preparing the diet list, the ideal weight is calculated based on gender, age, height, weight and body mass index (BMI) and is created in line with the calories needed. Body mass index (BMI) is a measure of being underweight, normal, overweight or obese. It is calculated by dividing the body weight in kg by the square of the height in meters. According to this account, BKi; <20 kg/m² is considered underweight, 20-25 kg/m² is considered normal, 25-30 kg/m² is considered overweight, and >30 kg/m² is considered obese. The ideal BMI ratio varies with age.
